These are special Quests designed for deckers! Unlike regular autoruns, these are long, multi-stage runs that require not only decking skills, but also exploration, investigation, puzzle-solving and out-of-the-box thinking. They are much more complex than normal autoruns and focus a lot on storytelling and immersion. Deckers will come across these Quests as they progress with their character development and upgrade their gear and skills. Oh, and they also have nice rewards! No physical combat in the meatworld involved, by the way.
Young Decker Quest (YDQ) - aimed at newbie deckers with at least 200 reputation. Some knowledge of the world and how the matrix works is required, but not much. The YDQ is the “simplest” of the Quests and can be completed with a CMT Avatar from character generation, so deckers are not required to have a custom deck to run it. To start the Quest, check out Tacoma's friendly games and comics store, the Android's Dungeon.
Aspiring Decker Quest (ADQ) - this one targets intermediate deckers. A reputation of 500 is required and a Rating-8 custom cyberdeck is highly recommended. For the ADQ, deckers are expected to have considerable knowledge of how the world and the matrix operate. To begin, there's a rumor that a certain decker trainer at Powell's Books in Portland is looking for some help.
Grand Decker Quests (GDQs) - the endgame Quests for top-notch deckers. These require a minimum of 1000 reputation and at least a Rating-10 custom cyberdeck. A Rating-12 is recommended. Unlike the single YDQ and ADQ, there are three Grand Decker Quests, each building on the story of the previous one and featuring complex puzzles and a hopefully even more engaging narrative.
— 1st Grand Decker Quest: start by visiting the Syberspace club. An ork decker has recently arrived and may offer you some work.
— 2nd Grand Decker Quest: to start, have you visited Seattle's Public Library recently? Who knows what you may unlock there.
— 3rd Grand Decker Quest: to begin, check out the area near a famous decker who teaches advanced decking skills in Seattle.
We hope you enjoy these Quests! In case you run into any bugs, glitches or get stuck, feel free to reach out on discord! Feedback (good and bad) is highly appreciated!
Good luck and have fun!
