BIOWARE CULTURED Usage: BIOWARE Bioware consists of organic vat grown replacement parts that can be implanted into a subject with a wide variety of results. Bioware does not have an essence cost like CYBERWARE. All metahumans can take 3 + essence points of bioware without ill effect. However, once it begins to exceed your ESSENCE INDEX you suffer severe penalties, such as slower healing, less overflow and lower resistance to drugs and pathogens. Installing bioware also lowers your magic directly by half it's rating, see BIOWARE INDEX for more details. Bioware comes in two grades, basic bioware which is a generic implant, and cultured bioware, which is tailor-made for the intended recipient, resulting in a lower Bioware Index cost.
